Do’s & Don’ts in Winter

Every time Winter comes around there’s always a battle in our minds about whether to stay warm or look cute. I am here to let you know that both can be achieved without having to follow every trend on the runway this season. But do give special attention to a few DO’s and DON’TS to help you make it through the cold whilst staying cute.

• Do embrace the colours doing the rounds this season: icy pastel blues to strong cobalt blues, marsala (not the dish) but a reddish brown hue, neutrals and of course the staple- BLACK.

•Do bundle up to keep warm by pairing a coat or green parka jacket, leggings, a scarf, a beanie and gloves BUT don’t overdo it.

•Don’t put away all your summer clothes but pair a summer item like the maxi skirt with some winter essentials.

•Do invest in a cape or poncho with graphic prints and a bit of blanket stitching to keep you cozy.

•Do embrace faux fur because there’s nothing cooler than fighting the cold and standing against animal cruelty all at the same time.

•Don’t resist the urge to buy yourself an ankle boot: be it cut out;closed;laced up; platform or flat, as long as it comes up to your ankles.

•Do invest in at least one chunky knit:the style and fit can be personal. Just keep it chunky.

•Do a different cut of jean this season like the 70’s flared jean.
